I cut an apple in half for the blackbirds earlier but noticed a couple of small birds eating them which I didn't instantly recognise. They were female blackcaps (which have brown 'caps') and are winter visitors:

Lovely to see. Apparently blackcaps were solely summer migrants to this country but are increasingly staying here full time as the climate warms and food availability improves.
If you can keep your head, while those around you are losing theirs, you may not have grasped the seriousness of the situation.
During a recent visit, Mr Squirrit revealed an alteration to his 'physique' - his 'unicorn'-like growth has developed!! [He's also getting bolder & becoming easier with the camera often now less than 20cms away (albeit behind a double-glaced window!)].
