Do larger butterflies sit down more than smaller ones? I don't know but the swallow tail is big but wouldn't let me take a decent photograph 😀 very fidgety!
Agreed @Fire I can get pretty close up photos of tortoiseshells! Others won't even land in the first place. @wild edges it's really worrying about the avian flu, I don't see how some of the populations will recover 😞. They did a bit about it on Springwatch plus RSPB are sending emails about it, very upsetting.
Found this little guy on the lawn this morning, I know its demise could be caused by one of many things, but with all the media coverage of Avian Flu I'm really hoping it hasn't reached my neck of the woods.
I have a new little friend following me around the garden now. Came and joined me on the bench during break. Don't know where the adult Robins are, haven't seen them for a few weeks.
Well I have had three "friends" over the years @Sheps , two of which would hand feed. All appeared to be males, brought their female to be fed here, but never nested here. The young would end up in my garden, so even when I loose an adult there is always a baby to take up the territory.
