    @LunarSea they are belting shots, Paul...really hoping some turn up close to home this year, I know there has been a sizable influx so far, but I'm hoping for a really harsh winter in Scandinavia to drive even more our way.

    Quite a few reported in Yorkshire today, mainly north though:

    72 Helmsley
    40 Thirsk
    39 North Stainley
    30 Sheffield
    <10 in both Bingley & Barnsley

    Annoyingly, I disturbed a woodcock yesterday. It was annoyed because I'd disturbed it, I was annoyed because I didn't know it was there to look and I had my macro lens on anyway. Lovely brief glimpse though.
