    Ya big softie @purplerallim :D
Sorry - I thought you were asking what the butterfly was. I was slightly surprised as I thought you would know it!
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...

The roe deer buck has turned up to do his bit for the species. Second half of August is the usual mating season so he is obviously keen to get on with it this year. There may be photos later but nothing to make Attenborough blush hopefully!

This is a lovely time limited podcast - just 28 episodes. Full of poetry and Gilbert White. She is a great nature writer also.

This morning, I didn't see the kid asleep at first.

Those insect photos are spectacular @Fairygirl I will have a good look at his website to see his technique. It isn't easy to get that quality.

Busy with wildlife here! A female roe deer spent several hours in the garden yesterday, including having a nap beside the summer house. She wandered off after dark, just after our regular fox visitor arrived to eat the food I put out for the badger! A very noisy owl somewhere very nearby.
This morning on our way out, we saw multiple baby rabbits heading into our garden, and a young fox standing in the middle of the local road, before heading into the safety of the hedge at our approach. We then saw a little creature, probably a weasel, start to head across the road in front of us before thankfully changing its mind and scarpering.
All the usual squirrels around too, although I don’t count those.

    They're absolutely superb @steephill, aren't they?  :)

Glad you saw them @pansyface. Really beautiful - the detail is quite incredible, as steephill says.

We had a male Beautiful Demoiselle visiting our garden for at least a couple of hours this morning. Son said that when he was sitting outside drinking his coffee it kept landing on his knee.
I couldn’t get a pic but we’re keeping our eyes open in case he returns … they’re not supposed to be around here but I can’t find anything else that it could be … we got very clear and quite close views of it.
