I found the first froglet yesterday, hopping around in some forgetmenots I was pulling out.  I noticed the tadpoles in the pond were developing legs last week.

It is certainly a mature specimen, very calm if it sees us but not tame.

    These always attract the bees.

  • I have been delighted to see a wren has nested in my old privy. No door on it and covered in ivy. She has managed to raise 2 broods and screamed at me whenever I walked down the garden anywhere near the nest.
I have also had woodpeckers coming to my feeding station after not being around for several years. Lovely.
A pair of ring-necked doves have also been visiting the station, never had them in the garden before.
Happily the numbers of various tits have increased this year, especially the long tailed and willow tits.
    A good year all round.

No pictures to show, as subject is too fast, but for the last two weeks as the sun sets we are seeing bats swooping around the bungalow.
As they are small and fast I am presuming pipistrelle bats, usually two to three I think , they really are fast, but lovely to see.😁
They have come in the past, but never this regularly,  and usually in the Autumn, they never stay long but are clearly finding food here.😁
