    There were thousands of lapwings there yesterday and every now and then they'd take off into big murmurations. Amazing birds.

    Agree entirely. We live just into the Peak District and recently we've seen groups of Lapwings leaving the Cheshire plain and doing a recce of sites in the hills where some of them will attempt to breed later.

    I also popped out to do some birdwatching yesterday after I heard that a Hawfinch had been seen. Stunning but nowadays very scarce bird. Nice bonus Willow Tit as well  :)
