This might be the worst photo I've taken in a long time but it's the first time I've seen the goldfinches eating the seeds from my cedar tree. It's supposed to be a good food plant for them but I've never seen them bother with it. There's other food available so it's not just desperation food for them.

Interesting @wild edges. @Liriodendron - I know what you mean about the camera -they trigger enough to get an ear and then the next trigger is the tail of the animal disappearing. I also read the first two lines of your sightings a bit quickly, which was a bit disconcerting
Wonder what's digging - fox do you think?
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...

The pros tend to use two cameras now because of this. Set to capture the same point at different angles and I guess you end up with a jigsaw of photos to put together to make the whole animal. I'd love one of the cameras that does video and photos at the same time though. The video triggers are always too slow but the results are often more complete than the photos.

I was half an hour early for a meeting today and the person I was meeting rang to say they'd be half an hour late. Annoying for some people but it was a sunny day and I was in the countryside so I went for a walk with my camera. This woodpecker flew over and landed on a tree right beside me.

Don't have any pictures sadly , but our resident stoat is getting quite bold. He comes onto the yard and catches blackbirds.
Daughter has seen him twice in the last couple of days and he has gone into full winter ermine He was hard to see while we still had lying snow, but must be rather p**d off now it has all gone green again! **

I've now had it set up in 3 locations in the garden, and have photos of the following:
Myself x 6
2 great tits on a branch
Tail end of a cat at night
Magpie on the compost heap
Nighttime pic of pair of eyes, can't see whose
Nothing x 3
But something has been excavating wild arum in the wood, and I've got the camera set up to see if I can find out who it is...

Sigh. I'll try again.
I've just re-read my previous post & see what you mean, @Fairygirl...
I hope the digging is a fox and not a rat.
