Hi Wonky - nice to see you - have a great day tomorrow - weather should be good for photos & picnics
Hosta - I'm about to have a cull of the nursery bed - fed up with watering things I'm growing on in case I can find a space for them.
Yvie - my garden always looks a bit 'short back and sides' after the Hampton hack-back. But the geraniums and aquilegias are putting on new growth now and it definitely looks much better than tatty old brown leaves. It'll be alright in a couple of weeks
Have had the sprinkler on today for the first time this year. A lot of things (including shrubs) looking rather droopy, no rain forecast for at least the next 7 days and quite warm temps to boot. Normal service has been resumed in droughty East Anglia
Clari - all the banks round here have 24/7 paying-in machines for depositing cheques.
Heaven is ... sitting in the garden with a G&T and a cat while watching the sun go down
Time to get a market stall and sell them on, Hosta?
Evening all.
Cooler today. Bit of heavy rain yesterday while I was at Tatton Park did wonders for the garden... and it didn't rain at the show. It was a lovely day.
Reflection of a flower arrangement...
My favourite back-to-back garden, just been on the telly.
Bought a large, proper jam pan 2nd hand in the market today. Must go and prepare more raspberries - a good 90% of this year's crop have "livestock" in, but after a bit of doctoring they (the berries, not the maggots ) make good jam.
Since 2019 I've lived in east Clare, in the west of Ireland.
Glad you enjoyed Tatton Park, Liri. I recorded it as OH wanted his meal in the garden.
I enjoyed judging the show, it was fun. But, have to admit, I looked up the RHS rules beforehand. They were all nice and a slap-up tea was provided. But it was hard judging jam that you couldn't taste! Flower arrangements are a bit personal taste, but the veg was easy, chose even sizes where there were several, eg 3 tomatoes, 6 beans, and lack of blemish. I live over an hour away so could escape!
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
Been out on the terrace drinking homemade lemonade and being thoroughly beaten by OH while the sprinkler's been on the sweet corn, followed by the beans and then the new sunny bed before finishing up with the wilderness. At least the Shady Bank doesn't need the leaky hose on again ... yet
Oh ........... yes .........it was chess again
Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.

I have to confess, I've only dumped the dahlias I no longer like as I still seem to have more than I can plant.

Topbird, I know what you mean. Do I really, I mean, really need 8 trays of candelabra primulas? or 50 miscanthus nepalensis? or 50 zantedeschia?
Hosta -
.
I thought I was bad enough with a couple of trays of rudbeckia, ammi, and cosmos - you are in a different league my friend. Hats off to you my friend!
Hosta, just think of the colourful show from all these primulas. . ....
When is the rock being dealt with?

Nice pics Liri - pleased to hear you had a good day
Extra protein, Liri.
or as my mother says. Don't shout about it, they'll all want one.
