Agree re funeral photos.  The pits.

Also re filming instead of deterring bike thieves... though a good video might identify the culprits, I suppose.

    Go Wonky!!  image

Since 2019 I've lived in east Clare, in the west of Ireland.
  • My day has just been brightened up cobsiderably, we just had a video call from our family living in Cambodia! My husband is now looking up flight prices for me, to see if I can visit over the summer. I suspect it's a bit late to get decent flight times and prices now.

Talking of funeral photos, and Cambodia, the Khmer websites put up the most gruesome photos of injured/deceased.  The norm is that they then get shared around social media. A completely different culture.

Morning all, back from daughter who has just moved house and hasn't yet got internet. Haven't read back yet, but so much to do! See you later.

Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.

Can't agree more with the whole 'phone' issue.

T'bird - the concert nonsense is ludicrous - why DO people want to watch it through a tiny screen after paying to SEE an artist? image

But the funeral takes the biscuit....it seems that some people can't live their life any other way than through their phone. There is no respect or consideration any more either. I despair of the human race at times, and yet, there will be another story which comes along to make you feel there IS hope for us all.

The doubles have been great too Liri - I agree. I've watched some of the men's, and I saw a little of Heather Watson's match yesterday,  but I have to fit it in round other things. Work mainly! It's seriously affecting my tennis watching...image image

Just had a stroll round the garden...well I went as far as the grass....image

Back to low teens after reaching 16 yesterday...yes, 16. That was the first day it managed to get to that temp. Positively tropical image

It's not unpleasant though - no wind, just wet.  Struggled to get double figures most days. Looks like hole filling, sanding and h****work for me...and tennis...image

It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...

    Do be careful Wonky!!

Well the rain is falling! Glad I cut the lawn yesterday. I wonder if I ought suggest that guests bring water proof tomorrow.

Since the GP services near me are so over strained their last advice was to " try googling your condition and see what treatment suggestions you can find and just play around until something works " I've just ordered some detox tea. It sounds like it will taste awful! Tea here is Yorkshire and a splash of semi skimmed not sixteen herbs and fruit floating in it! Still it's one of many Internet cures on my list.

Still then... anyone for a brew?

How weird is that? - Wonky's post wasn't there before my last posting. and it wasn't there when I refreshed the page to see what you were urging her to do. Went to previous page - came back to this one and suddenly it was there... image

Anyways, - you're a great DIL to do that Wonky - hope you can make it secure  and looking nice in a day. Watch out Instant Gardener!!

Filled lawnmower with petrol, pulled it out of the shed and the heavens opened image. Potted on some basil, did washing up - sun is shining now. Time for a quick cuppa and I'll go and try again.

Heaven is ... sitting in the garden with a G&T and a cat while watching the sun go down

Seem to be missing the rain here, so about to get out there for a couple of hours.  Many, many plants simply begging to be potted onimage.  Will come back in for the tennis though.

Drove Chicklet to the airport yesterday - visiting a friend in Berlin.  First time she has flown on her own ....mucho stressimage.  I had to laugh when she said that all the times she has flown before she has just followed us, not taking the slightest notice of what was going on, and wondering what everyone was getting quite so tetchy about ......and now she knowsimage.  My baby is growing up image
