I came across a lovely grass snake basking in the sun on a nice patch of mulch earlier.

    Afternoon all.

Yes I am having problems with access Hazel. I put it down to local issues but it just seems to be on GW. image

Hi Wonks...wondered where you were. Take it easy and enjoy the big day! Stawberries and cream with shortbread all round for Summer graduation here. image

HF I admire your heartlessess. I swore I was going to dig up my eleventy seven roses this year but the flowers are so pretty they make me feel mean. They tear lumps out of me, impede access for weeding and generally give me the hump ...but they're so purdy! image And smelly...

Happy Gardening to all who have been and those to come.

Hosta, I've almost made up my mind that we no longer have the space for dahlias  (someone keeps giving me grasses image)   - I've almost promised them to Wonky ........... but when the buds open I may change my mind image

Oh flippin 'eck, he's started the angle grinder again .......... image

My bank (Natwest) have changed their opening hours 10:00 - 16:00 Monday while Friday.

I now have a cheque (my wages) that it is impossible for me to pay in because apparently banks don't think people who work need to use them. I always used to go in at 09:00 and start work late (not ideal) or go on Saturday but now I'm stuck without a paddle.

HOW DO THEY EXPECT ME TO BUY PLANTS IF THEY PUT EVERYTHING ONLINE????image

So... what have I missed today?

Clarington, get the idiot what does your wages into the 21st century. Wages go by BACS straight into bank.image

    No excuses.

You've not missed a lot. Weather is much cooler here, not been above 24 all day. Some weeds got ripped out and some plants put in the space. A bit less watering to do each day I hope.

I think the robins are feeding a third brood. The mealworms are certainly going fast.

Has anyone been in touch with Panda.? She went to a beer festival and then disappeared.image

    Have a good evening folks.

When was the beer festival maybe she's still there?? image

To be honest I feel more comfortable with a cheque because at least on pay day he can't claim to be suffering a computer update or out of the office. Cheques I can at least hokd before they bounce sky high. Since I started work he was going to change bank accounts to enable online banking (he can't with the current system because a trustee put their foot in where it wasn't required and messed things up... apparently).

Clari - I think you need to get back  to that job hunting you were doing a while back....image

There's 'being a loyal, hard working employee', and  there's 'being taken for a mug'....a fine line divides them....image

Got hot here after the thunder and rain yesterday, although it was more like the norm when I went to work - about 13 degrees. It was mid twenties at lunchtime. I got a few things done outside then and when I came home. I have next week off so I hope to get a lot more done, weather permitting.

Haven't been on here today so will have a little catch up while contemplating dinner. image

It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...

You'll just have to have an hour off every month to deposit the cheque. On works time of course.

It is possible to set up the date of bank transfer  days , even weeks in advance , so there is no excuse.

A lovely sunny day again, it's gone a bit cloudy now and looks like we might get some rain, but I've watered anyway just in case.

Have cut back geraniums today and a few other plants, never like the way the garden looks when the first flush of roses has gone over and a lot of early perennials need a trim.  I do have a few things in pots though that can fill a few gaps.  Planted Hydrangea Elegance bought yesterday. Still worrying a bit about the decision to remove some of the conifers from my garden, hope it looks OK.

Glad to hear from you Wonky I was wondering where you had disappeared to.

Panda has been at that beer festival a long time, hope she is OK.
