Lovely day out with the girls - thank you all for your excellent company and thanks for the plants Wonky.
The gardens were absolutely beautiful but I was too busy yacking to take pictures other than plant labels - soz Think Wonky or Panda might have taken a couple though.
Time for dinner although I'm still quite full after lunch and cake. Maybe I'll sit and watch the umpire - sorry - I mean watch the tennis for a bit
Heaven is ... sitting in the garden with a G&T and a cat while watching the sun go down
Fairy, yes, I remembered you writing about Jasmin Paris and that amazing record, and told SIL about it - he already knew! The world of "ultra fell running" is a small one, I think.
It's obviously the day for taking cats to the vet. Ours is just a bit below par, losing a bit of weight and condition, so we got her checked out as her sister died of leukaemia 18 months ago. Nothing particular to worry about yet, but we need to keep an eye on her weight.
I know what you all mean about the mixed doubles... the match was worth watching, too!
Off to look at your gardening photos thread, Wonky etc.
Since 2019 I've lived in east Clare, in the west of Ireland.
I hope she does OK Liri. Our cats have always lost weight in summer and shed fur and looked a bit tatty till we could give them a good scragging with their brush, which they love.
First time in over 30 years we've only had the one cat. Always had strays turning up regularly before - like Lesley.
No tennis here, gorgeous umpires or not. Been perusing nursery catalogues and ordering hamamelis for autumn............

Vendée - 20kms from Atlantic coast.

Thanks, Obelixx. She and her sister were rescued from an awful home in a flat in Bradford, the only survivors of a large litter - seems likely the mum had leukaemia which means all the offspring would have it too. So we know her life will be limited too - we're just aiming to keep her as well and happy as possible.
Love hamamelis... just got the one, 'Arnold Promise', a lovely clear yellow, with good autumn colour too. No room for any more. Which ones are you going for?

That's such a shame Liri. Never understood why people let cats have kittens and don't do their jabs. I'm sure she's very happy being well looked after.
Hamamelis x int. 'Frederic', Hamamelis 'Rochester', Hamamelis x int. 'Rubin' kalm, Hamamelis x int. 'Vesna' - all perfumed. Having a bit of a splurge....

Anyone watching the mixed doubles? The umpire is very easy on the eye
A A Milne
LP -
I see what you mean!
Clari - a well aimed, lit match would also work....
