    PP - image

Lots of meres in the Lake District - in fact isn't that something about the Lake District that there are lots of meres and waters but not that many Lakes??? Windermere, Buttermere, Wastwater, Coniston Water etc. Not sure - maybe I made that up - will have to go and look at an atlas now. Another diversion from boring house stuff image

Seem to remember something about it from my own skoowell geography lessons

    I've instantly forgotten everything I've just read....image

Laughing at the 'mere' comments. I used to give my daughter grief about her (English)  Geography teacher who allowed the class to talk about tarns instead of lochans when they discussed Scottish landscapes. She said they knew they were called lochans, but tarn was easier for them to say so he allowed them to use tarn instead! Fair enough  (maybe image)  if they were five, but they were fifteen! I used to take a picture of a lochan every time I was on a hill and tell her she was to take it in to her teacher. She got really annoyed with me.....image

Bed's out of stock Liri. Bedroom is currently home to the laundry  image

Tomatoes with an 'e' RB  image  They look very good  image

Think it might be too late for the last bit of pie T'bird..image

Glad the non sleepers got some good sleep  image

Back to the grind - can't sit about here all day you know  image

It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...

image Pie Fairy - where's my pie??? image

Have to have some of Runny's soup instead image - certainly the right sort of day for it - shall I make a sour dough loaf to go with it or cheese scones? (says she sounding like another domestic goddess - not)

I was right about the Lake District - Bassenthwaite Lake is the only body of water traditionally called a lake. Mr Newton would be dead proud of me for remembering that image

    Now I must get on!

I'm glad it's not just me who looks things up and instantly forgets, Runny...

Just tucking in to jacket spud with baked beans and side salad in the cafe in Burnley bus station, having just missed a bus home.  Not gourmet food but not bad value for £2.99!

Might have to guess what's on your shopping list BM...

No smileys cos I'm on my phone.  :-(

Due to my mother having absolute no idea about my chronic illnesses (her complete lack of interest; it's not like Google is such an effort) I spent yesterday's big family party upset and most royally pissed off.

When you are morbidly obese yourself it is not appropriate to in front of everyone family or not) tell your daughter she's so fat she looks pregnant then question her on whether she's pregnant like it would be a bad thing.

HAD I been pregnant it's my decision when I announce it to the family.

HAD I been pregnant (considering my infertility a celebration in its own right) I have a 20% higher than normal chance of miscarriage and so reserve the right not to tell ANYONE until the child starts school. Or maybe university.

So to cheer myself up I let slide the no buying plants rule and now own a few yellow label specials. 5 woodland strawberry plants, a apple bramley twig and a pear conference twig.

Unfortunately I've not got the allotment that they will eventually go in. Oops! Has anyone any advice on planting twigs in pots?

Oh Clari. That's rotten. Mothers seem to think they can speak to you as if you are a child because you are their child! It gets more than a little wearing after 27+ years. image And it goes on till either you're dead or they are!!!! image Ok that's the good news!

When your strawberries and pears and apples are ready to harvest, don't give her share! Ha! image
