Evening people. Not long back from a walk. Changed my plan, as the clag was right down, and did one of the hills I've done quite a few times. It has a good path so navigation's straightforward. Left the camera - visibility only about 80 to 100 feet so not much to see! I've posted ones before anyway.

Interesting re the hedgehogs Liri. I don't think people think things through when they decide to introduce non natives. image

Rain forecast for the weekend so hopefully the garden will get a much needed watering.

RB - are you sure the noise you heard was thunder and not all those ladies of a certain age fainting at the thought of the 'Jones boy' ?  image

It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
  • RunnyBeak- you must be up the road from me then!

    I'm in Sutton Coldfield.

Forgot about Tom Jones' visit too.

  • I'm a new member, joined a few days ago.

No, I shan't be seeing Tom Jones! Funny you shop in Sutton, I often shop in Lichfield! Got some great plants from the greengrocers last Saturday.

Thinking of a trip to Dobbies at Atherstone soon, have you been there? I'm a bit bored of Wyevale at Shenstone, as handy as it is. I love Planters at Tamworth, but what I really need to find is some nice little nurseries!

  • Thanks! It is still a work in progress, working out what grows well in our garden and what doesn't, whether that be the soil or because I don't know what I am doing.

There is so much to learn. My parents keep a nice garden, but they don't really know about gardening, if that makes any sense? So, I'm kind of finding my own feet at the moment. My mother in law knows lots about gardening, but lives in Suffolk, so I learn what I can from her whenever possible.

Dewdrops - like you, I didn't have anyone who I could ask about gardening ......until I found this siteimage  There are experts galore here, and now I have no question that goes unaskedimage

Your garden is looking fabulous - keep those pictures comingimage

Oops Hosta.  Sorry. I didn't mean you'd been rude.  That other person was and shouldn't have been.

Just in from the dance club AGM and waiting for coffee to brew - decaf - before heading for bed.   Cream crackered and aching feet.

English book sale tomorrow for charity tomorrow and we have books to donate and then some gardening if the weather holds.

Liri - isn't there a Scottish isle that's relocating hedgehogs?

Vendée - 20kms from Atlantic coast.

The hedgehog eradication programme is to be carried out over ten years on the islands of North and South Uist and Benbecula.

Morning all! I started the couch to 5k programme last night. Look what it did to the hound!

    image

He ran up the stairs after dinner as his tradition to surf his bed and never made it back down. I came up to find him fast asleep and snoring!

Off to work shortly; I'm filming a CPR demonstration  this afternoon for an event called Sheffield DocFest.

I hope everyone affected by the flooding is okay; I must have left Sheffield just in time last night because when I put the news on I found roads closed everywhere due to the manholes lifting. They've even had another sink hole!

We don't seem to have had much rain here at all. My poor pots still look like they could do with more.

I've been reading back but there is, as usual, too much to remember. Hope you all have a good day.

we've been getting firewood again today. We've sure gone though a lot in the last couple of weeks.

not much happening in the garden at the moment.
