Terrific storm a couple of hours ago - torrential rain - garage flooded - anything of importance on bricks so just a soggy floor to deal with. Electric still working thank goodness.
Looking forward to tomorrow with Dove & BL - forecast is good but, after a squelch down to the shed I might put the wellies in the car in case it's a tad wet under foot.
Roses might be a little washed out (mine have been to the laundry and put through the wringer) but it will be lovely to meet up - and any rose survivors will smell extra sweet in the damp air
Heaven is ... sitting in the garden with a G&T and a cat while watching the sun go down
Oh no Topbird! That keeps happening to my parents too, it's such a pain for them.
I took mum out for a visit to Dobbies in Atherstone, think we made a few people smile as I was there teaching my mum about the plants, rather than her teaching me. Went and did my food shopping and came back and dug a bit more flowerbed out. The robins we're loving it again, fluttering alongside me as I dug and they got to within about 10cm today.
I might have fallen asleep at 6pm, woke up again half a hour ago though. Now watching Birmingham Children's hospital on channel 4, so I'm likely to end up shedding a few tears at that!
Evening all nice to see you DD morning Pat, I hope you had a lovely birthday
Lilyp, have a wonderful time with the family for the photo shoot
Topbird, Dove and BusyL, have a great day tomorrow, rain all day and evening here too! Leak in the basement and spare toilet garden is growing well is the plus side and both cats find the greenhouse very accommodating!
Hosta! 3 stone!!!! Golly goodness gosh!!!!!! Well done you!
Evening all. Only came in a little while ago. Went to vote after work, did loads of stuff outside, made dinner, ate dinner, then back outside to cut back grass and plant a couple of little things. Dishes washed and a cuppa now.
LP - I thought it was today that lovely man was appearing. The rain's to come in tonight, so - result!
Love the idea of the plane Joyce...
Hope the weather holds for you Forkers tomorrow.
T'bird - It was the prog about his trip to Pakistan to photograph the Karakoram mountains - K2 etc. Stunning scenery.
Friday ALL day tomorrow Wonks
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
Lots of people posting Pat, just not all on this thread. Some people only do plants chat and there is a separate weather thread and garden visits and so on.
I can't cope with much more of the election coverage so I'm off to bed. Following the earlier storms there's a very bright moon backlighting an angry looking sky. May not be a peaceful night.
Vendée - 20kms from Atlantic coast.

Good morning to those of you who wake early. I've just looked back. Obelixx, amazing photos. Thanks for telling me about how they use the drones.
i guess we'll be told what you have all voted when we get up and turn the TV on.
Isn't it strange without Verdun and many others not using the site? We seem limited to a much small number of posters now.
Ive woken to bright sun and no snow, thank goodness. The day could be interesting if their predictions are correct.

Photos from our bedroom window this morning.
A big male catching some rays before the wintry blast.

there are big dark blue/grey clouds gathering to the south west. So it seems the predictions of snowfall might be right (for a change).
