rain started just before the soil arrived, typical.

Drive was one of our delivery customers who has been living in a shed with his family whilst he renovates the house on the plot.

I sent him off with a couple of plants for the new garden.

Dropped hubby in town for work, popped into The Factory Shop as they have some cheap £6 shorts which will do for gardening. Great news!!!!! I'm now L and not XL

    Cuppa then soil moving.

    Mercifully the rain has stopped.

The news is just depressing.  So much senseless violence in Yorkshire and France.

Weather depressing too.  Mid June and I'm rugged up as though it were March.  More deluges and thunder expected so no gardening again today but I can do some potting indoors and then make a rhubarb cake and some savoury muffins for tonight - last ballroom class of the season.

Vendée - 20kms from Atlantic coast.

    Morning all.

Topbird, know what you mean... am trying to keep really busy and not watch too many news programmes.

Best wishes to those who are under the weather, or have troubles and upsets.

Filling holes in the wall around the staircase today.  Need to do a quick re-paint before our visitors arrive from Ireland at the end of next week.

    Have a good day folks

Liri I'm with you with the news, I hide in the garden.  I have holes too that need filling if you get bored! Honestly though I wouldn't worry as I promise you they won't notice! I spent four days last bank holiday preparing for visitors and they didn't notice a thing! They are disolutioned in thinking my home and garden always was like that!

they would have heart attack if they popped back today image

  • I'm off to the big smoke for a conference taking place over the weekend, so no gardening for me this weekend.

More flash flooding around us last night, although we escaped v lightly in our garden, only a few paddling pools appeared:

At least I don't have to ask the husband to water the plants whilst I'm away!

It's extra special as we have a new little one to add and everyone is making a special effort to come for at least the weekend tho the comings and goings are like a timetable !first time we will all have been at the family home in over a year!
