G'day all, and welcome to the new comers.

Cold, wet and windy here. Lost a 5 foot tall A. archangelica in full bloom, in the wind yesterday.

Final lot of pre holiday jabs today, so departure must be soon.

    Hope the news improves Dove.

How can you lie there and think of England

Not too far from me then poppy. I am half way between Nottingham and Derby.

Time to ask him for board money, Kitty.

My friends son had a girlfriend move in without asking. After a few weeks of being treated like a hotel, including dumping towels in the bath, she asked for board. The two of them moved out to live with her dad. That didn't last long either.

    Ha,ha. Poor impoverished students fidget.

They used to do 50/50 spending weekdays with his mum and weekends at our house. I think they finally realised that the transport links into Manchester city centre are better from here. (They do have part time jobs as well)

He actually does more tidying up than my daughter so can't complain.

Welcome to Sunshine and Poppyred image

Miserable weather here today, but not as miserable as yesterday's.

Just got to get the little greenhouse ready for neighbour to keep an eye on, and fill the bird feeders - then that'll be all the outside jobs done .......

Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.

  • Eek, I'm hoping to reduce, not expand my household in the long run. I plan to dispatch them to university, then quickly downsize (to a small house with huge garden) while they're not looking, so they can't come back image. Have a feeling it might not work out that way though image.

How long will you be away for Dove?

  • My garden isn't huge either Poppy, its a flat rectangle behind what was a newbuild house 20 years ago.

    Morning!

Have just clicked the heating on - bloomin' freezing again.

Welcome to the newcomers - it's a little crazy here but harmless.

I think I'm going to have to get out there to do some emergency staking when the rain stops. Some of the aquilegias and hesperis are nearly horizontal. Why oh why oh why do I never do enough staking / plant supports? All these years of gardening - I know the rules - am very cross with myself at the moment.

Hope you get all your jobs done Dove and both you and Chicky receive some good news today.

Did somebody mention baking a cake? Sounds like a plan....image

Heaven is ... sitting in the garden with a G&T and a cat while watching the sun go down
