Makeshift fence, builders bag, rose in a plastic bucket and random parasol.

Another builders bag, doors, hose and dead waterbutt

    Waterbutt graveyard

Nice seating area surrounded by piles of old turf, accompanied by an old cat litter tray

    Saving the best for last.

Big patches in my garden never had anything done to them, it’s not that I don’t get round to it, it’s because I like wildlife areas,,, <lyingthroughteethsmiley >
shouldn’t move those old bags, there may be something nesting under there. 😱☺️😊

Oh I LOVE this thread!!! It has made me smile so much and I feel brilliant - it really isn't just me that has stuff like this in the garden 😅😂😄 Thanks to you all.
  • In case you’re wondering.....lavender

Guess who bought too many seeds this year.

I assure you, there was a plan for this. It’ll be fine...just give it time..

Think how many old tyres and builders bags I could stack up in my concept garden at Chelsea if I got £100k from some investment bank with more money than sense.

HH, I was a bit concerned until I saw your later pics.
A few bits of plastic and abandoned toot would be an improvement.
Don't give up - release the inner sloven. When you can get round to it of course ;)

As promised, the garage.  Thank goodness I don't have a car.  The next reliably dry day, when I can safely lug everything out on the drive, I HAVE TO clear this up, because I have rashly undertaken to store a large item, something between a marquee and a gazebo, which the Friends of Queens Park voted to buy at our last meeting.  I'm told it will measure about 24" x 24" x I forget how many feet long.  Towards this end, OH and I have just lugged a decent bookcase and low cupboard unit (you can see it under the mower) out of a neighbour's skip, with her consent of course).  Also been to the hardware store for lots of hooks, string, wire and sticky tape. The "after" pictures will be a breathtaking example of beauty and order.  For five minutes.

You know how showbiz veterans sometimes receive awards for "lifetime achievement"?  I think I deserve an award for lifetime underachievement.  Don't you think flinster's letting the side down a bit?  That last photo, with the purple alliums and pots on the steps, is my idea of rather splendid.
