PP, I'm totally with you on the Burren (the real one!) and the west of Ireland. Got back from there yesterday evening - daughter, SIL and our 2 little granddaughters live just south of Galway.
Since 2019 I've lived in east Clare, in the west of Ireland.
Just looking to preserve this record of fencing inadequacy in its appropriate home before it's ripped out and replaced.
I'm sorry to be the person who has to do this, the original Gos'ser did a wonderful job and deserves respect - I understand it served about 14 years of neglect.
My name is Cloggie and I am a recovering Gos'ser. Please don't hate me.
Gardening is allowed, nay encouraged. But there will always be a corner that you'll get round to sometime. Cloggie, stick around. A bit of mended fence is nothing to worry about.
PP, thanks - the weather wasn't bad, actually. Just one morning when it was still and drizzly, ideal weather for the midges... but quite a lot of sun too.
I guess this thread is an appropriate place for the photo of daughter's garden on the day she moved in, last January.
It's a bit greener now...

I think the builders had parked the diggers on their "garden"... they did send round an army of gardeners, finally (June, I think) to rotavate, plant a tree or two and sow grass seed. By that time our daughter had got rid of all the couch grass she could find...

It could still be as peaceful haven for you as it is for wildlife. See it with the sloth filter. For example see the bracken as lush ferns.
You have entered the GoS. You may pass go and collect your 200weeds

I hope you're keeping the gate!
I'll have it if you're chucking it.
Lovely view you have there Cloggs. You can do what I do...sit with your back to your own garden and look at a nice field.
Liri glad you enjoyed your time on the Emerald Isle. Nice here isn't it? I hope the weather was kind to you...it can be a bit dampish at times.
