Some people don't have insurance for their pets, but what about if there's a big bill? When barley was 4 months old he had trouble with his elbows, had to have the cartledge trimmed. He had an x-ray and scan. It came to over £2000 pounds. It took up all the claim money for that year.image

Crikey, that's a lot. Tigger (the late) had an xray and scan for his cancer a couple of years ago and about a months worth of cortisone. The French vet charged about £200. When my old horse had 3 sorts of tick transmitted diseases at the same time the vet came every day for 10 days, 30 mins journey, to give him IV injections the total bill was just over £800. She had said it would be expensive and when I said I didn't mind, I just wanted him cured she said many French people would have had him put down so she didn't charge for any of her travelling.

Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.

Logan havent been on here for ages, so only just seen about Bracken. Hopefully, it was better him passing away with you, than having to go to the vet and make the horrible decission. You have my huge sympathies of course.

Thanks NB, yes it was better for him. His ashes is on the side board with the others,I know it might be silly, but we say goodnight and good morning to him and the others. I started off by me just saying goodnight to bracken, then hubby said goodnight to the rest and now it's stayed that way.image I'm starting to feel a bit better now, I got to the point where I was making myself ill, I had terrible indigestion and my stomach was hurting. But I found that if I had a bit of ginger with some food it helped.image
