why arent you at work with folks smelly feet!  I figure its too hot to work, and I think if I transplant now, the heat will kill them, so holding off.  Have got a crane bag of shingle and same of topsoil sitting out front, dunno if it will get done by Sunday, you do eat roast dog, I take it!

This morning at 10.30,I took berry out for his walk. Was walking well to heel and suddenly he goes round the back of me to get to the other side and trips me over, I put my arms forward as I fell.I got badly grazed nees and hands.Hubby is very good and sympathetic, but he joked that I can't go out on my own without anything happening to me. It's not the first time that i do something when walking the boys. If I tell the dog trainer, he'd ask me if was paying attention. The day before I managed to cut my finger while cutting up swede for dinner.image

Also got a Luna (luny 1 year old border collie) lucky if she makes next Birthday! Friday desided to change our bedding, looked in the airing cupboard, got a set from well known supermarket, and set that matches curtains, being Mrs Fussy, went for latter, wasnt "ironed" enough for my liking so inspite of heat (and busy) got out ironing board, which is hanging in spare room, iron from airing cupboard, short flex these days, so bit of a struggle, did the bed. That night, looked in the bed room, neatly made bed all messed up, accused Hubby, who said he hadnt been in there, put duvet back on, discovered a hole about 8 inches  square was fuming, turned it over, AND found a matching one the other side.  Luckily, she hadnt chewed through the duvet, not buying a new one, debating getting king size bed, so not worth it, we already have "winter weight" king size duvets, so going to buy fat quarter on e-bay, and patch.Logan, hope Bracken is OK, let us all know.

Thanks nanny Beach, I will let you know.Seems to be up and down with his eating, yesterday he picked up a bit but today he was down again. He has dried food but I've always soak it, but now he will only eat it dry. The other 2 have different food but higher in protein and with fish, he will eat that but not the James wellbeloved with fish but he was eating it before. I think it might be dementia, but I haven't said anything yet.image

Luna was weaned on Royal Canin, its expensive, so I thought I would give it to her for the first year, my toy, had those little foil packs for small dogs.  A few months back, she desided she wasnt eating it, so they both had Butchers chicken/meat in jelly, now happy with shops own brand.  Our last Collie, (put to sleep Jan.15, was 17) had dementia for some years, a couple of times, OH took her to the top of the Downs, she turned round and walked away, he couldnt catch her, once brought back by the dog warden, in the next road from home if you please, "missing" 20 minutes cost us about £90, there was a pick up fee, and then a days kennelling, YET, she hadnt gone to a kennel, got a rollicking, from them as well, Oh, walked up the downs several times looking for her.  Another time must have been 2015, early in the year March I think, he put the bin round, she went out of the gate NEVER done that in 17 years! Started looking straight away, it was pitch dark, thick, freezing fog,, asked everyone I saw, one bloke, the only one who asked her name, (know him by sight, he has a dog) he found her walking down the main A22,brought her back, meantime I am freezing my whatnots off, walking up the Downs and local fields. She used to walk in and out of the door, but she was still eating OK, wanted to go for walks.  Vet said her heart and lungs were fine, but the last year she had kidney failure.

  • Logan I do hope that Bracken will be feeling much better soon and back to eating. He is a handsome fella, such a kind face and eyes. I wish him a speedy recovery.

Nanny hang in there I am sure things will improve when luna has a couple more years under her collar. Dexter is hard work too at 3 months he had a knee injury and had to be in a leg cast for 2 months. He had to be kept still and calm at a crucial time when puppies learn so much about socialising and what is appropriate behaviour. When the cast was off he turned into the most hyperactive dog I have every seen, never still, every noise and movement in the house and outside the house excited him to manic levels. Jumping on everyone and generaly awful behaviour problems. He wouldn't stay still long enough to train. He is now 2 and with a lot of patience and persistance he is a different dog, not perfect but a saint in comparison to how he was. I understand how you feel, they can be a challenge but worth it in the end.image

Went to see a friend today, who has a dog I think 8, she never chewed (aparently) but does like these nylon bones things that Luna has.  Not my last collie, the one before that, I had one of those pull up wooden clothes airers, it was in my utility room, with a table cloth drying on the top, she chewed it.  My late grandmother gave it to me when I got married (lst Hubby) 1970, it was pure Irish linen with handmade lace, AND it took me 5 years to embroider in cross stitch, the japanese tea house design on it.  Not 5 years solid, I used to pick it up and do a couple of hours.   I cried my eyes out, I can tell you!

Nanny Beach and Blood rose, thank you.Had the results of the blood test, there's high levels of protein,he's anaemic, high level of white blood cells. He's kidneys are ok.It could mean a tumour but she's going with a infection deep down.He did have a toe infection but had antibiotics for that. He'll have 2 weeks of antibiotics then another blood test.image Don't worry nanny things will get better with your's.image
