Hello, I seem to have missed calling in this morning. Did 2 loads of sheet and towel washing as wanted to fit it in before the storms start, made bread and then have been re-doing my pots and troughs. Think I have too many, but at least I don't have over 200 like Monty Don!

I'm never in the garden with shorts on, jeans save time scrubbing mud off my knees.image

Why is Verdun taking a break? Has he had words with someone?

Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.

No time off for any BHols here either Hosta. I'd have to take it as an actual day's holiday  image

Are you enjoying relaxing with your lovely view chicky? Don't strain yourself helping MrC either - holding a tape measure is as much as you should do image

    Sorry Joyce - but I've been digging concrete-y soil...image It's quite 'robust'....image

and there is a huge lump of concrete which I doubt I'll get out. Of course, it's exactly where the edge of the new border is supposed to be... image

Is it too late for lunch? Not sure what it is I'm having. Everything tastes of nothing anyway image

Wonks - you could always install an outside shower. That way, it would save you dangling the shower out the window....ehh ok, maybe not....image

    Bridge too far - shorts....image

You need a good skelp Fairy but it's so tempting to get on with things when the weather's good so you are forgiven.image

Busy day. I've been clearing a horrid area at the front of the house. Ash tree removed before we moved here, but a very healthy stump with refuses to die.

Choked with couch grass and that nasty little geum.

Gave up when Hubby came home from work. Just in time as we then had the most wonderful thunderstorm and downpour.

Must remember to clean my nails before work tomorrow. Alarm call at 6.45. EEK.

    Devon.

Looks like everyone's been enjoying the lovely weather today, glorious sunshine here in Manchester too but I've stuck with the jeans, don't want to scare the neighbours. image

Dove: A visit with Hosta sounds like a wonderful tonic, a lovely friend to you with a fabulous garden to nosey around. image

Busy Lizzie: You certainly live up to your nickname, you seem to have extra hours in the day over there as Dordogne Damsel is always on the go as well.

Mynx: Hope you weren't too rattled, can be a bit of an agrophobic myself at times. I find the city centre really stressful and never go alone. Take baby steps and don't let it get you down. image

Good luck first day back Hosta.  Get well soon for Fairy. Love the chickens Clarington. Hope the boss doesn't get "stuck" in France fidget, bet you could have done without the extra workload.

Best wishes to anyone I've missed, can't remember half of what I read back from this morning.

Think I'll go and pour a glass of wine and put my slippers on. image

Evening all,  Had a lovely couple of days.  Yesterday was spent at firstborn's with all the grandchildren, including new baby, so lots and lots of cuddles.

A few glasses of wine plus a chinese meal wrapped the day up nicely.  I am now officially 27image and have a day at Harewood, plus an afternoon tea at a Cotswold Hotel to look forward to next month.  Also had £100 in gardening vouchers so I can spend, spend, spend.

Today was spent in the garden finishing off pot planting.  Very excited as irises have flowered, they have been in the garden for two years and this is the first time they have flowered.  They are lovely, have taken a picture but not sure if I can post it.

    Good luck at work Hosta.

Hope you feel better soon Fairy.

Thank you Yvie - I feel much better even though I've been digging with the pickaxe image

Did I miss your birthday? image You can tell me what it's like to be 27....

Glad you've had a lovely time -  and enjoy spending the vouchers  image

Think Liri started a specific thread GWRS. I haven't had time to have a look yet. Will see if I can find it and bump it up.
