Runnybeak, there's a big improvement in wrist thanks. Another couple of weeks should see it back to normal. I'm able to some light gardening Chap cut the grass and moved some pots for me this morning
Glad your wrist is a bit better Joyce. Just a little deadheading though - nothing too adventurous
Extension is almost there now RB - thanks. The thought of donning painting clothes is depressing...
Very jealous chicky - hope you have a terrific time. Think obelixx is right about the cake, but I'm sure you'll survive
Hope all goes well with your new 'job' of judging BL. Wonder if people get as worked up about flower competitions as they do in other forms of showing? Stupid question really - of course they do! Be ready with a good answer for the questions and rude comments....
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
Yummy GWRS. We had our first home grown asparagus at the weekend ....totally worth the 3 year wait
One of the big advantages of working from home on a nice sunny day is that when you down tools, you can be in the garden within seconds???
Sitting here watching the bumblebees filling their boots on the first aquilegias of the season. Very pleased to see them (the aquilegias as well as the bumbles) because last year we had an attack of aquliegia gall midge that ruined nearly all of them. Thought t would return, but so far so good, lots of flowers opening up.
Another half an hour here in the sun, and then I must go pack a case. Panicking a bit now obelixx .....do we have to take our own cake? It is an essential part of a "sisters" weekend ???......maybe gelato could be a substitute????
ooooo .....look what I've found ?????(in the absence of pinch and enlarge I'd better elaborate that its a Dove)
Italian ice cream will be so much better than their cake. Enjoy.
I have lifted my hosta - left one lump in the ground to grow on with plenty of space and split the rest to pot up in 2 10 inch pots and 1 20 inch. Gave them a pep talk so hope they'll be OK. It was in my damp shade bed which has now had a whole bag of soil conditioner spread over it and I've planted out some lovely white Thalia daffs I had planted in a window box after finding them lurking in the garage too late to plant in the ground.
Now I'm lovely and mucky and need a shower before going dancing.
Vendée - 20kms from Atlantic coast.
"The price good men (and women) pay for indifference to public affairs is to be ruled by evil men (and women)."
Went to the meeting, looked at laptop, rang a couple of friends, watched TV. No gardening.
There are other things to eat at Lake Garda apart from cake and Italian ice cream is yum. I put on a couple of pounds when we were there. Every village around the lake has it's own character. We stayed in a villa, with friends, overlooking the lake in Garda itself. We took a bus to Verona, lots to look at. Had my car because we drove from France, over the Alps.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
Afternoon folks, Lovely day here, been building sandcastles in the garden with Mabel. Had a quick tour of the garden on my return and noticed that I have quite a few Irises waiting to flower (didn't get any last year) can't wait to see what they look like.
Very jealous here P'doc. I've read all the Ladies Detective Agency books, if you see a 'traditionally built lady driving a little white van' give her a wave from me.
Also would appreciate it if you can fit me in your suitcase Chicky, love Italy, great food and wine, and the scenery is spectacular.
Sorry to hear about all poorly peeps, feet, colds, backs etc. Hope you get well soon.
BL they'll be asking to judge at Chelsea before we know it.
