Going ok so far. No disasters and colleagues and customers seem pleased to have me back.
Obelixx, that journey sounds more than hideous, but I always say to OH in those situations, "the people waiting for THAT ambulance are having a worse day than you".
Dove, sort yourself out woman. You're here in 4 days.
I am a little miffed, that a couple of people have sent PM's, blaming me for Verdun's absence, as I am not responsible. He will return when he is ready, and I am not going to be bullied by a couple of saddos.
How can you lie there and think of England When you don't even know who's in the team
Afternoon all Just getting myself ready for a run out with the mower. It's all been allowed to get a wee bit long Still once it's done the garden will look a lot better
we are tackling "the Rector" he really has been allowed to get away with too much so we are taking him in hand. As we are high and in a frost pocket the roses are only just starting to grow
Re crows mobbing, yesterday we watched for ages a crow having a go at our resident kestrel. Eventually the crow gave up but we were amazed at how high it went. Once had one pecking to get out of a woodburner wasnt on, I was astounded. Two weeks later same thing! Sure it was the same bird, yes, there was a guard over the chimney pot but we replaced with foolproof() one
off to fight with the Rector again ?⛏?✂️

Have read back a little bit so have an idea what you are all up to but no time to comment as off for the last shift at the chateau soon, farewell BBQ for the wedding party who leave in the morning. I was trying to tot up in my head how much this family had spent on this wedding but have given up. There are 43 of them and they hired the chateau from Friday to Monday and have had outside caterers in for every meal plus the spectacular wedding breakfast. They have had live singers (fortunately not dead ones ) at the wedding ceremony, a string quartet on the lawns with the canapes pre - dinner, another live band and DJ at the evening do as well as four photographers recording every glorious moment. And the flowers, virtually all roses, were just about everywhere in masses, even the bar counter had a 'runner' of roses around it four roses deep, kept getting in the way to be honest and a little unnecessary and then to top it all they had a firework display that was a big as any 'official' firework display I have ever seen. The people were lovely, really nice but I couldn't help thinking it was all rather wasteful. I suppose if you have that much money it doesn't matter but I kept thinking of all the starving children in the world. Hopefully it will be a once only wedding with memories for a lifetime but all a bit too grand for my liking, certainly an insight into a different view on the world.
Punkdoc - just wanted to say too that whenever I read your posts I always feel they are well balanced and clear and if you do ever 'lose it' you always apologize so I wouldn't feel too bad. Saddened to hear you have had unpleasant PM's though.
Right good evening to all, must be off. Did manage to make a nice quiche for lunch though and a cheeky strawberry cheesecake so won't feel too envious of the people stuffing their face with BBQ stuff tonight. Hope the rain blows away though.

Friends of mine called theirs the Randy Rector, such were his roaming habits. They ended up hacking him down because he became uncontrollable. My Kiftsgate needs a bit of a hack and training session too as it's wrapping itself round window shutters. Going to look fabulous soon when all the buds open.
Punkdoc - entirely not your fault. Verdun has presumably gone to ruminate, maybe on why he gets in so much trouble, so often and with so many different people. He'll be busy in his garden too since things will be growing thick and fast in his balmy climate.
Still raining here but I refuse to do any ironing on principle. OH's job whilst watching sport on TV.
I have seen a heron giving a crow what for after it got too close to the nest - circling higher and higher and making lots of noise. Here we have jackdaws starting to nest on our old chimney pots. This could get interesting at the feeding station if they succeed and breed.

Afternoon - it's warm out there! - come in for a cool down after cutting the grass. If anyone has rain to spare we could do with some - grass is starting to fade a bit already.
Take it easy Dove & get yourself fit and well for the long drive.
DD - I really don't get expensive weddings either - sometimes it seems the more they spend the shorter the marriage lasts - but maybe that's just me feeling a bit hot and tetchy at the moment. Fortunately my family and friends seem to be far more sensible about it all (either that or we're all tight bu$$ers )
P'Doc - I'm in with DD on this one - your postings are usually well balanced and pleasant to read. You join in the debates on some contentious issues - but always state whether you are quoting fact or giving your personal views.I think it is all rather sad and pathetic if people feel the need to stick their oar in and resort to unpleasant or accusatory PM's.
Finally, is it really sad that I got so excited at the site of hedgehog poo on the lawn? Have told the cat he is to welcome Hefty in and show him where the water and cat biscuits are.

Hi all.
Very busy in the garden, so not really looked in.
Hope your day at work goes well Hosta.

Panda, take it easy.
LP, hope you win the battle with the "rampant Rector"
I've reluctantly decided that the afternoon will have to be given over to h....rk and ir.....ing
My goodness, is all this internal politics still going on?
