Haha Joyce, image that's two halves of two cats! They love playing pounce through the grasses!

Hi WW - I think they are sedges, or certainly the top & bottom ones are; top one Carex Silver Sceptre?  Grows not very big, I think.

The middle one I'm not sure about.

Since 2019 I've lived in east Clare, in the west of Ireland.

Don't know WW but well done you for supporting the little independent one!!!

It's one of my mantras in life "SUPPORT YOUR LOCAL INDEPENDENT" until my local independent optician tried to charge me £500 for specs. I drew a pencil line at that. I do support my local independent everyone elses when I can though. image

Thanks Liri, I will look those up image

PP, I'm often driving round these places for work and have an accommodating boot in the car image think I'd look elsewhere were I charged £500 for g!asses! image I'd want a new set of eyes with long lashes and perfectly groomed eyebrows for that! image

Morning all - it is still morning isn't it? image

Feeling very wishy washy and lethargic - can't shift this cough and cold at all. Planned to walk today but will potter outside (does shifting soil count?) and try and get out tomorrow.

I agree with Liri Wonks - I had a very similar Carex to the first one, but there's so many types that are similar. Could the second one be a Panicum? They're often quite upright like that. Not sure. The last one could be a Luzula....image

Sorry to hear about your news Kitty. Always worse when it's completely out the blue.

I've experienced panic attacks also - not great when you're in the car, which is where I got mine. I think they gradually went when I accepted the reasons why I was experiencing them, and then just took short, well known  journeys and then gradually increased them. Great that you have good support, and I hope it improves for you Mynx. Like so many issues, it's little steps isn't it? image

Take it easy on Monday Hosta. No running and jumping or dancing in the aisles...image

I'll echo the advice Dove - in the ground image

It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...

    Good morning Wonky image

Think those would be good either to the right of your water but or in the wildlife bit - sedges like damp toes.  Not that I'd tell you what to do image

    Good morning all, hi Patimage

Fairy glad you're listening to 'Mum'image.  I quite agree and you should be kind to yourself till you shake your wretched cold off.

Wonky you seem really good at sniffing out the plant bargains (and I don't suppose they're scented).  I picked up a clematis Jingle Bells at Morrisons this morning for £1.77.  Of course it's only tiny but it will grow, I hopeimage.

Dove you'll feel a lot happier once the tree is in the ground and you can get away and relax.

Hazel I know what 'cleared up' in menspeak meansimage.  Good luck.

Glad that your Mum is improving Kitty.  A bit of weight off your mind.  Minx (hugs).  It used to happen to me In supermarkets.

This is a hello and goodbye post all in one, 5 minute sit down before I dash off again. image OH has decided we have time to squeeze in a trip to the tip with all my garden rubbish before I set off to work an 11 hour shift at the chateau - I didn't need a rest anyway. image

I met the bride & groom and all the guests last night at the welcome meal, lovely sweet couple and nice guests, but - and I know this sounds strange - they were all too beautiful. I was exhausted just looking at the women, it has to take way too much effort to look that perfect, not even an eyebrow hair out of place. Here is me dashing to the tip before I throw myself in the shower and hope washing my hair gets the soil out from under my very short stumpy nails. Well at least I won't out shine the bride. image

Catch you all later, have a good day all and especially Hosta on your 1st day back. image
