Clari, you have to pop in every few years just to check, cant believe they still have her in there!
she really was a pretty cat but I wouldn't say this has been preserved in fact I think Joyce has it spot on! Joyce, I'm now having images of smokey draped around someone's shoulder with those withered feet dangling!
It didn't happen quite like that ... Smokey dropped dead at a very young age. A suitably qualified scientific friend did a post mortem and diagnosed a heart malformation. She had been having a go at taxidermy and asked if we wanted the cat back or if she could have a go at her taxidermy with it. Wonky appeared to have moved on and I didn't think there would be a problem.
How was I to know that said friend would be so chuffed with her taxidermy efforts that she donated Smokey to the local museum where she was a volunteer ... she wasn't the most 'child-focussed' of people, despite (or perhaps because of) having twin daughters of her own
Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.
Am I first on this morning, or is my iPad doing strange things again? There are no posts since Joyce at 22.37, so it doesn't seem likely that no one has posted since.

Sorry WW
Lovely and sunny here too
Our cats ended up buried under the apple tree.
I think if someone had suggested stuffing them, they would have had a short reply.

"Would you like them mounted?"
"No, thanks - just holding hands."
