First things first: very best wishes to Dove and Wonky for tomorrow - and hugs for Joyce; hope OH is soon released from hospital.
Yvie, hope your granddaughter isn't in pain any more. At least children heal quickly...
Had a busy week, firstly a few days spent in Scotland mending the water system in our cottage. The problem was an air lock which took a bit of shifting (involving complicated manoeuvres with the shower head whilst sucking on the hot tap... sounds a bit kinky, but it honestly wasn't! ). I got it resolved just in time to ring the plumber and tell him not to come - which saved a big bill. And the weather was fab! The trip was rounded off with some really interesting chat on the train from Oban to Glasgow, with the two passengers at my train table. One was a partially-sighted octogenarian, visiting his wife in her care home, who was a great conversationalist about anything and everything, while the other was a nomadic female Swedish chef who'd just finished a job on a small cruise ship around the inner Hebrides. Aren't people interesting?
Then back home in time for OH's 70th birthday on Sunday, followed by a celebratory day out yesterday in Cumbria. And finally, today I got into the garden and ripped out loads of weeds which seem to have sprung up in the past week.
Since 2019 I've lived in east Clare, in the west of Ireland.
Chicky what a gorgeous view! So glad you and sisters and mum was it? Had a lovely time and weather! And how lucky to find a garden! thanks for the hugs forgot you off my list along with Nut, Runny, and Liri however could I?!?! will I ever be forgiven do you think? Wombles brains can't retain too much at once
SGL, re the deer, send them my way and they can eat the greenfly from my roses!
Liri, wow! You have been busy! And your plumbing techniques are indeed interesting! glad you managed to avoid large bill! Love train journeys like that, its nice to take time and get to know new people, especially ones you wouldn't normally come into contact with happy 70th to OH for Sunday, sounds like a great time all round, and good weather!
