Our friends have left, gone up to La Rochelle, but they took us out to lunch first image

I've been outside to plant annuals, but the pollen off the acacia trees is making me cough and my eyes go runny, it's 27° in the shade. So I've come in for a cup of tea and an antihistamine tablet. I wanted to get them planted as the forecast is for rain and much cooler tomorrow.

Hosta, you better keep clear of that salted toffee cake if you want to keep that weight off. But well done you. I only manage to lose half a stone at a time.

Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.

Back home after a lovely visit to friends, supposed to be so the men could discuss the stag do for my friends son in July, but nicely surprised by lots of cards and a bottle of jubbly image. Thanks for the congratulations, we were going out for a nice meal, but OH is still so poorly the visit this morning has completely tired him out. Never mind, hopefully there will be plenty of wedding anniversary's to come image.  At least I can now get a couple of hours in doing some more gardening, at least if the rain holds off. Happy days everyone .

  • 4th panda I love your shed clematis, beautiful!

Sorry OH is poorly, Mynx. Could you go out tomorrow instead? Or is he too poorly for that?

Mynx - you could always buy ...a wood....image

BL - I think it's time Hosta visited the 'old country' and he'll need to keep the weight off to come for a light sprint up a small hill with me....image

Nice clems Panda. I have no montanas now but I love the white Grandiflora. Had a pink one on a fence round the corner, with Rouge Cardinal nearby.

I've steamed and brushed and wiped...sealing and painting next. I used to enjoy it but have no enthusiasm for it now. I'm too particular about filling all the holes and caulking round switches and sockets. Maybe I'll just sling a carpet down and go for pale and interesting on the walls  image

It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...

Umm Minx - I'm thinking tree, bench, raised bed, pergola etc, etcimage.  Well you wood, wouldn't you?image

Chicky, I though my starlings trumped your bluetits but Obelixx has outdone us both with the kookaburrasimage.  We really need to do something as soon as they've fledged to stop them coming back to raise a second brood but I feel so meanimage.  No hope for meimage.
