Evening all. Where has all the warmth gone? I'm not turning the heating on; it's May after all! (Well known for snowy showers around here until late May). I am tempted to get a hot water bottle though.
I have stuffed peppers in the oven, the hound has rabbit heads roasting away (desperate for him to eat food with crunch in!). It's making the kitchen smell quite eclectic.
Evening everyone, night night Pat, sounds like you have had a good clear out in the garden! Glad the fire wasn't too close!
BusyL, how lovely, well done for getting a picture!
Lesley, I've been in the garden all day too we had drizzle all day though but I potted on lots of stuff and joined you in a bout of weeding, we are going to ache tomorrow! secret plant stall man does just leave honesty box, close community with vigilant, helpful neighbours. I just wish he had been home as he shows you round the garden and asks what your after then takes you to it and charges 3 quid for something in better condition than you would get from a garden centre! Just going to have to make it a regular detour! Only trouble is that its so out of the way that it took me forty minutes to find the place! ....worth it though!
I have been sorting out paperwork for most of today. I suppose I had better check on the greenhouse, as it's been raining all day I have not touched it.
I eventually managed to see the toad Lesley - I thought it was in profile and then I realised he was looking at me....
Sorry fidget and Wonks - I've arranged for us to have all the good weather up here for now. It's vitally important to me. Don't worry - you'll be getting it back soon I expect
Cracking pic BL. Fascinating looking birds aren't they? They must be able to get down into the ground a good way with those long beaks
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
OK Fairy, as its you, its vitally important and I go back to work tomorrow, you can have my sun until the weekend! I want it back by 8.30 am Saturday though please!
Thank you everyone for your kind support ( as always) found my friend in a very agitated state
we seemed to spend the whole day repeating the same things. I really really admire the folk who live with this and their loved ones who have to cope
sounds like everyone has been busy in the garden, between toads, geese and ducks our gardens are a haven for much wildlife as well as our beloved plants
amazing how we have had a north/south divide with the weather today. 22 when I got home, for once we are in the right place it was colder up in town.
Sorry everyone I am too tired to scroll back, looking forward to the "fixes" on the new site
hooe everyone has had a good day,
BL how are you?
btw my photos not uploading straight or to size, anyone else have this problem?
Weeds are flowers, too, once you get to know them.” A A Milne
Pat, that fire looks scary, often seen the helicopters carrying water going over when we're on hols in Turkey. Remember travelling on the local bus one day when a tourist threw a cigarette end out of the window. The driver stopped and retrieved it, couldn't understand exactly what he was saying to the tourist but I got the general gist of it.
Love the Hoop photo, very exotic. Had a woodpecker and a sparrow hawk in the garden, that's about as exciting as it gets here.
On Nanna duty today, it's absolutely poured down all day. It's supposed to brighten up again by Thursday, can't get back in the garden until then anyway. I'm off visiting new grandson tomorrow for more cuddles.
The mess it left made me rather glad for excess packaging. Hopefully the half a dozen frogs currently residing in the pond will put paid to the rest of them.
The fussy eater hound is really enjoying his new diet (raw food) but the lack of biscuit is doing his teeth no good (when he put them in his food he delicately picks them out). So tonight I gave him rabbits head thinking he'd show no interest...
...nope he has crunched and chewed through three of the formerly cure fluffy bunnies. All the while their little eyes staring at me.

I turned the heating on. I hate being cold.

I have evicted three snails from the greenhouse, and I've filled up all the slug pubs.
Ok Wonks. At the moment - it looks like the sun disappears here by Saturday, so you're sorted!
I took some Acidanthera out the growhouse this morning, and put them back in this evening. That's the sum total of gardening today for me

Fidget; I put my shopping bag on a snail earlier.
