How lucky to have seen her in the flesh Hosta. She was delightful. Hard when the people you've 'grown up with' are going, and worse when it's way too soon.
Just been out to remove the planks that have been chucked down on top of my primulas along the back fence.....
Wishing I hadn't bothered with this ruddy extension now.
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
2016 really does seem to be having a bit of a purge doesn't it
Neighbours are enjoying the weather and burning *everything* so my evening to potter in the garden was curtailed somewhat. I wouldn't mind but I've no end that could be burnt that instead I'm hacking up to put in the recycling bin rather than risk disturbing others. How terribly British.
Good morning Chicky and the rest of you as you appear
It's a beautiful morning out there - lots of birds on the feeders - and I've just watched a large heron land in the neighbour's garden opposite, then sit on the leylandii hedge to swallow whatever he'd found, and take off and fly over our garden and back towards the marshes.
I've a feeling they've a pond short of a goldfish - but it was a magnificent sight - I do love herons
I'm meeting up with Wonky today and visiting Ma. On the way back we may take a short detour to a wonderful nursery just down the road ... I wonder what will tempt us ... I may start a thread ... think we could do with something to think about other than lives cut short and politics
Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.
