Liri your weekend sounded lovely. Beaus, well done getting the new bed dug out. Now for the plants.
The weather forecast doesn't sound very promising this week so hope everyone gets their outside jobs done then we can all start armchair gardening again. Off to unzip the greenhouse. Have a good day everyone
Another good looking day here - think your 'side' is getting the worst of the weather later in the week Lesley. I'm just grateful it's staying away from here for now, but it'll probably be lousy when I'm able to get back out there!
You had a lovely weekend Liri - hope you have suitable spots for those extra plants
Hosta - it'll get better -I'm sure of it. I'm sure mine will improve once I have a proper bed to sleep in. I'm trying to stay positive about it
Off to t'mill soon so hope you all have a grand day
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
Thanks Beaus Mum! Stupidly forgot to take a 'before' shot of the new border, but will post an 'after' once all the perennials are in too Sounds like we will both be achey today, but worth it!
Sorry BM, missed the " what's the new project" , I think we overlapped.
There's an area behind the pond below our terrace which was given over to ,mostly evergreen planting to form a screen from the farm lane beyond.
In the corner was a large Pinus Radiata which fell over because some bright spark decided orange bailer twine was an ideal tree tie. It literally snapped about .5m above the ground and left a huge hole.
It's filled in a lot now , and the extra light is great, but I want to open it up further without losing our privacy.
The whole area has slate chipping over membrane underneath and I want to use the chippings to top up the paths and lose the membrane, add compost and have more planting areas.
Started cutting back Viburnum Tinus and a massive Forsythia yesterday afternoon.

Oh Hosta, typical boy! Bed head
I feel cheated if I wake up later than 7 as feel it's a waste of a day
good morning Lesley, hope you are well X I couldn't sleep last night thinking of plants
gonna need a few!
I was in bed at 10 , and if it'd had any sleep before 1am, I'd be feeling different now I'm sure.
I dream of a decent night sleep every night and a nice early fresh start.
Morning all/afties Pat if you're around

it's been much better since surgery I have to admit, but it's a bore ( to say the least ) being tired and not being able to sleep at night.
Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.
Enjoy a rest Dove if you can
