Not yet Pat - Wonky and her Lovely Hub (the IT tech) had to cancel their visit here because of their 'flu ... we'll rearrange then when they come he can do what is necessary and we'll watch it together
Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.
Yes Joyce, they sort of did form a hedge, however their choice of garden bed was where I'd planted onions. I had trouble finding the onions. They were good though .
I he it works for you Dove, when they are well enough to visit.
Sharp frost here, but the sun is melting it fast. I have cleome to prick out today, and I need to dig the new onion patch over and get rid of the remainder of last year's sweetcorn crop. I'm thinking that some of the stalks would be good for the bug hotel. Have a good day folks.
Damp and cloudy here now, cloud and sun for today supposedly, so I may get the grass cut later.
A couple of tomatoes have germinated so that's good. I don't sow them early, no where to put them as the growhouse won't keep them cosy enough till next month. I need to start moving everything that's next to the fence. pots and in the ground, so that the builders can get in. Not sure where I'll put them...
Hope everyone slept well and those who are poorly are on the mend.
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
Verdun, yes I do. I'm rather partial to the things that young Tino Carnivale does, because the Hobart climate is similar to ours. I've always watched it - years and years. The person before Tino in Hobart was Peter Cundall, a Brit who had obviously decided to live out here. His book is sort of the equivalent of my bible. He was brilliant, but has grown a bit old for the job now. I sometimes see him on the occasional permaculture show. I'm glad you enjoy it. Costa is a character, isn't he? The Queensland, and WA segments arent much use for me here, nor Sydney. And the SA segment, while she is very good, and they are just as dry as us, aren't really relevant either. It's a pity that they don't do the ACT, because it would be the best. Never mind. I get by and I'm doing less and less myself now and just concentrate on the vegetables that I want for our kitchen.
Hi Fairy and Fidget Hope you have a good Sunday. We were just sitting down to lunch today when Hubby got a call out for a fire. He wasn't impressed as he was looking forward to his lunch. He's back now and I've been told it was an old car that a bloke had fixed up and it caught fire in the paddock. All under control now.
I shall be pricking out and pricking out and potting on today too (although sowing cleomes is on my list -I'm a bit behind you Fidget) .....tomatoes, cosmos, cucumbers, rudbeckias, echinaceas, cephalaria and several sorts of snapdragon .....its all very exciting
But first, littlest Chicklet needs a lift to work ....the good people of Farnham are waiting for their posh coffee

Cosmos waiting to go in composter
These are the ones I haven't cut back yet. Felt sorry for the birds and the bees.

Morning all
A light touch of frost but sun is out now. Pat, your giant cosmos could have formed a hedge!
