I'm with you there herbaceous - one gale per winter - hot enough for frolicking in the garden trying not to get wet whilst the hose was sprinkling the lawn - what fun, but weather seemed far more predicable back then. We have another hot day here - up to 21 degrees today with a light breeze to keep us refreshed. We really want some rain for the garden though and it seems that we may have a wet weekend but I won't hold my breath on that one.
Wasn't forecast to be hot today - but it was. Possibly not the best day to decide to shift half a bulk bag of bark chippings (I think that was about 25 barrow loads) 60 metres down the garden. Hope that tomorrow a few more loads & then we might be able to drag the rest next to the area where they are to be spread.
Am rather hot and bothered just now...
And I never cut the grass....
Heaven is ... sitting in the garden with a G&T and a cat while watching the sun go down
East Berks - Tropical! Hard to believe we had a monsoon two days ago....... Very happy though as gardening on clay is much easier when it is damp. Cut my rosemary right back as the beetles are taking over, now I just need to find somewhere to put the pile of clippings.
Wish I was outside now as the temperature is just perfect.

Well we needed the rain but of course we would have preferred it last night instead of this morning - so I am catching up with chores indoors rather than watering the garden!
So glad your rain arrived in sensible proportions GD2! Living on my own it takes a downpour to make me get the vacuum out, if the weather is at all reasonable I choose the garden.
My daughter borrowed my incinerator (for the leylandii at their new house so good cause) which hasn't been a problem as stuff is much too wet. But now things are drying out I want it back.
East Berks: Overcast here and very muggy, barely any wind so I'm wondering what's next?

Once the mist burnt off it has been sunny and hot here (north Dorset) sun now going down and a light breeze, lovely evening.
We could really do with some rain in Notts. The ground is really dry and the water butts are too!
Hot and dry, 27° (shade)
