Thunderstorms all night and much of the morning!  Torrential rain and strong winds - one of the bird feeders has been blown down across the squash plants - don't think there's any damage to the plants but I'm not going out there just yet - I'll be drownded image

No thunder yet but otherwise the same as Dove but a few hours behind.

Very dark and I have garden withdrawal symptoms.

Meow Woof woof yep it rained 'Cats n' dogs here all night and its been blowing a hooli ever since.. Two inches of rain fell overnight so no need to water the garden today! Just the greenhouse and I didn't think that would still be here this morning after last nights storm...

I'm so glad I don't have my yacht now,  sold it about 10 years ago, or it would have been blown to the Baltic by now!!!

Windy and sunny this morning - so I managed a couple of hours in the garden - now it is dull and overcast and rain is forecast for later today.

Fed up, raining all day here and not much better forecast for tomorrow and now the wind is getting up. Garden Open Day in 12 days, going to be a sad sorry mess I fear, my poor roses are battered up badly and my lilies are getting a real bashing. image Grass is green though. image

12 days time - that is plenty of time for the weather to improve Dordogne Damsel - I am sure your garden will look wonderful again by then, so don't worry. If your garden visitors live near by they will be having the same problems with all the rain as you are having - I am sure they will see some lovely plants and you will receive many compliments.  We had three open gardens here in the past and provided refreshments and a raffle among other things and everyone went away happy as I am sure they will for you..

Thanks for the encouragement GD, I really need it, nothing I can do I know but so frustrating. I am often busy and running around all over the place and today was a free day to really get stuck in to the garden and it really has been dreadfully wet. Hopefully, when it lets up a bit the soil will be nice and soft for some quick weeding. image

Like you say though locals will understand and gardeners will certainly appreciate the problems. Last year when we opened we had the opposite problem, it hadn't rained for weeks and the grass was brown and everything was wilting in the heat. image

We will just have to eat cake. image

Torrential rain and high winds as I was out on NHS home visits. Lovely, came back soaking wet.

DD, I've visited 2 other Open Gardens in the pouring rain, we ate cake, drank tea and coffee, it was fun! There was a gap in the rain each time to rush out and have a look at the gardens. Forecast is good for the weekend of 11th, 12th. Are you still coming to my Strawberry Tea? I need to know numbers next week for shopping.

    Still pouring now though.
