After some overnight rain and mist and cloud this morning the sun is just appearing - which is very welcome - however the rain did some good in the garden and half filled our water butts. Strong wind warning for Friday and Saturday - oh dear.
At last some proper 'English' rain, not the sort that bounces off my rock hard clay and runs away but the kind that falls gently and starts to soak in. The sort that doesn't feel like heavy rain but still soaks you on the trip to the greenhouse and falls vertically. I'm not keen on horizontal rain as the accompanying wind is too destructive.
Indoor activities today and I don't care as the temp is sensible (for me) and I feel quite energetic for the first time in weeks now, what to do with my new found energy?

Yes I got out as far as the greenhouse/conservatory too herbaceous. I have been sorting out the dried seeds in there and packaging them up ready to send. The wind has a hint of dampness in it, but it did rain lightly last night. I think the wind is going to be the main problem for the next 24 hours or so, some sailings cancelled as the sea is so rough.
Well aren't you the lucky one Verdun! Count your blessings and make hay whilst the sun shines because this stormy weather is heading your way - eventually! However we have had two or three weeks of almost continual sunshine so we can't complain.
I know I am on an island too PP and GD2 but mine is bigger and I am a bit further away from the edge so I am hoping the wind doesn't come. Don't mind rain, part of the scheme of things, don't like storms. But each to their own PP and 14deg sounds like heaven

I don't know about heaven herb but it is preferable to yesterday when we made it to about 18° and 83% humidity. There were pieces of kitchen roll falling out of everywhere about my sweaty person!!!!

Marvellous.
