imageIt has got up to 39° this afternoon, according to OH's car, but the thermometer by the front door, in the shade, said 37°.

The photo is my lawn and we have at least 2 more weeks of hot weather, but there should be a thunderstorm by the end of the week.

Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.

On the drive back from visiting Mum in hospital, (nice and cool in there),this afternoon, temps reached 34c. It's clouding up a bit now here in Bristol.

Well chaps, after the conference about the Acers - I had a long phone call and when I returned outside some clouds had started forming. I made the executive decision to hold off as the leaves looked ok and were having some respite from the strong sun.

They will have a water this evening and I will so some research...

My red Acer isn't really in the best position as it  south-facing but apart from loosing a few small branches over the seasons - it is in good condition.

Been for my annual check after the big op two years ago, all well no problems, come back next year.

It was 22C most of the night and this morning, had to change bed linen and pillow, whilst in Hospital it suddenly poured down which cooled things quite a bit, it was short and sharp now the sun is out again though a cooling breeze is wafting through the house. That is Stockton, Daughter in Inverness on holiday phoned to say a mighty storm kept her awake she thought WW3 had started.

    Frank.

Overcast here in Norfolk and the  temp here has dropped from 32 earlier to just above 29 in the shade just now with a breeze - a little more comfortable image
