Cool and overcast again and due to start raining at lunchtime.

I'm in agony after yesterday's tree felling exploits so it hardly matters.

Off to take some painkillers and meet a friend for coffee.

I want my money back! I wish someone would explain to me how this 'temperate climate' thing works 'cos it feels like feast or famine, its a rollercoaster. Doesn't feel like a zone anymore, feels more like pockets. OK, that feels better image

No rain in my bit of Berks and although the temperature has dropped a bit it still feels very warm. Kind of a stored energy thing. I have some physical issues with the heat so am gardening v early and v late and wishing I had some stored energy image

You said it aym280, I like to think I glow. My glowing drips and soaks my clothes though so maybe thats just wishful thinking. Also have tummy troubles and heat rash, seem to spend a lot of time in the shower - cleanest I've ever been and eco friendly too using only cold water.

Sympathy for neighbour issues, I have only back gardens backing onto my back garden and immediate neighbours are all over 60, which makes normal daytime gardening very stop and start as the ladies want to tell me about the village goings on and the chaps just lean on the fence watching from their meadows explaining why they can't do any gardening image

Out front its a different story so sympathy.

Thank you for your tips aym280, I have lived with the heat rash thing all my life and tried most things including after sun cream which was helpful. Now I tend to stick to aloe vera and my own chamomile salve as I developed skin allergies in later life and need to take care of that too. best scenario is stay cool image

The tummy trouble comes from eating almost anything, so I tend not to eat just drink lots of water. Half an hour in a cold bath is my best bet to reduce core temperature but tummy trouble makes that impractical - so cold showers!

So glad you have found a way to cope,

Its raining! Lovely gentle rain, temp closer to 20 than 30 and I can breathe image

Aym280, I promise you that cold showers are not an easy choice, just a desperate measure. Never been troubled by sunburn as heat rash always gets me first, except for the time I went swimming in the Atlantic. Core temp so low I forgot about heat and got sunburn, new experience.

I tend to stick to my own herbal remedies these days, know where they've been and what they are but still looking for a silver bullet. Some relief is all I ask, and now I have it.

Some light drizzle this morning !!! :))

The first time we've had wet stuff since late June - hallelujah

But it won't last, or revive my dead annuals :(
