Started raining around 7pm last night, nipped out to put more slug pelletts on my wildflower plugs, which have almost all gone.  This morning 6am. went to inspect - collected 29 slugs and 2 snails from a bit of ground about 1 foot square!  Dispatched them in a bucket of saline. Dry at the moment, forecast staying that way.

It has stopped raining for the first time since Friday week ago. Managed to get all the grass cut and now I'm off to the tip. The front lawn will get another skelp this evening as the forecast for the foreseeable is wet, wet, wet....

We're all back to normal it seems. The Summer has been. image

  • After a damp early morning the weather has improved 10 fold - now breezy, sunny and dry - ideal gardening weather.

I'm saying nothing  image   just that yesterday was brilliant and I am a happy herb! Sadly can't say the same for my veg so today, maybe a pep talk?

  • Not much in the way of sunshine today - now it is raining and windy with fog horns blowing.

It is pelting down with rain and I don't care! Needed to stop for a cuppa anyway, can't believe I've had nearly two days in the garden without being rained off every five minutes. Properly raining now though so good job I'm at daughters tomorrow for dinner. She has spent nearly a fortnight waiting to install a raised bed for veg outdoors, but seems very excited by her 'new greenhouse' veg.

So tomorrow she gets a couple of tomato plants, cucumber and cucamelon to add to her store. I know, I know, its really late to be kicking these off  image  but between my leaking roof and the weather it has been complicated this year.

I did have fun with my slug scissors today though, and mangled my arm on a bramble image  but I don't care...........
