Hot all day. Too hot for digging holes, but I did manage to get the banana planted.

Started off sunny very hot now raining image

  • Another hot and dry day today but again sea mist rolled in and we are shrouded in it. I wish it would just rain, a good dollop and get it over with, then clear skies again. In my dreams ......

Hot and dry here in the NW, never thought the ground would ever dry out after the floods in the winter.

East Berks. So, there I am, last night closing the greenhouse up and the garden was suddenly lit like day and the loudest bang I have ever heard straight after the flash!  And I'm trying to remember my physics - am I in  a Faraday cage? or a lightning conductor?

Gathered my courage and ran for the house, got soooo wet but made it just as the next flash bang hit.

This is not proper weather! Stayed in all day today, worried about getting stuck outside again plus there has been more torrential rain............

  • Gosh that was dramatic herbaceous - and here I am wishing for rain - but gentle continual rain (during night) would suit me far better than your down pour. I must be careful what I wish for!

You certainly must GD2! The rain has caused some plant damage, actually quite a bit, but it was an hour long thunderstorm which gave me the grief, it was over my house most of the time. V scary! Switched my computer off and the TV (which I tend to use as a radio) and remembered my Grandfather turning mirrors to face the wall - thought about it but decided that might just be paranoiaimage

Too right plant pauper! Whatever happened to 70F, light breeze, shower in the evening, ah those were the days. Not having to wait for the grass to dry out before you can mow, not having to weight everything down so you needn't go searching when it blows away, not having to stake everything in sight - OMG I'm turning into my Dad, gonna stop there.
