Blazing sunshine yesterday so had to paint planters in the shade. Today 15° and lashing with rain. image

I am declaring this the second or third worst Summer in my lifetime. The worst was the year I was all newlywed and newlyfangled and bought my first sunloungers in Woolworths! They didn't see daylight till the following year.

Sorry Joyce. You know I'd keep it here if I could...image (not). The weatherman said it would move slowly but I think it's definitely heading your way and to get heavier as well. My grass is like leeks! image

Clear blue sky and sun AGAIN!! I'm truly fed-up with endless sunshine and even more fed up we've had no rain since 23 June. I've got the 'ump!

I have a lot of sun-damage to my skin (as we never seem to get anything but bl**dy sunshine here) so when it's sunny I'm stuck indoors - and I've been mostly stuck indoors the whole summer watching my plants die from drought.

  • Started off very cloudy today but the sun has appeared, the sky is clear and a lovely shade of blue. Sadly it looks like a downturn again by weekend and I could do with a few fine days to do some painting outside.

  • Hot and humid here today, fog horn blaring too.  The sun did break through the low cloud for a short while around midday but as we are desperate for rain let it come and get this blip in the weather over with. Thunder is forecast too - however quite often it rains in Jersey or Alderney but misses little Guernsey!

Bit of a weird morning here, have to garden v early in the heat but its raining today, sort of, and very humid. Must be the weather arriving from the SW? Used to work in IT and had air conditioned Co car, miss the air con now!  Don't miss the transport but I wish I could go and hide in a server room somewhere image

Daughter took pity on me the other day and let me ride in her air con car (cost me a lunch but it was worth it!) to the garden centre. It was very disappointing, we went to Dorney to check out the kitchen garden as we had both been told how brilliant it was, well it made me feel good about my veg garden......... Even allowing for it being end of season and drought it was a bit of a mess. Lots of weeds, variable produce and the plants for sale were poor and v expensive, don't think we'll be going back there.

Better go get the beans and gherkins before it really kicks off.
