Why not just change your sleep pattern, who says you have to sleep from 12 to 8am?
My sleep time is from 4am?
if you want to sleep longer in the morning and can't do that through the night, then do so. Don't lay in bed getting annoyed because you can't sleep, get up, make tea and toast, take a blanket, sit on settee, watch a film, read a book, then sleep until you wake up, whatever time that is. There's something to be said for eat when you're hungry and sleep when your tired. Be a free spirit, do what suits you.
Failing that go down to the supermarket and buy a packet of Nightol
Gardening on the wild, windy west side of Dartmoor.
Having given up alcohol Hosta [ I don't know whether to congratulate, or to commiserate ] it may take a number of months for your brain to "reset". Withdrawal takes much longer than people imagine.
How can you lie there and think of England When you don't even know who's in the team
Well so much for a relaxing mothers day. I've just spent a couple of hourse deep cleaning the kitchen, don't know what came over me but the appliances have come out and the steamer has been on, everything is now gleaming. Don't suppose it will have done my back any good but I feel better that it's been done.
I'm with Lyn on the sleep thing, I have given up trying to get into a 'pattern' and just go with what my body tells me. I find it less stressful which means I sleep better as I don't worry so much. I'm often up reading a good book with a cuppa.
Think I've done enough work for today so no gardening will be attempted apart from checking the greenhouse and cold frame.
I do Sudoku before going to sleep. I used to read but the reading light is too bright for OH and I need it brighter than I used to. OH just drops off. When I start nodding I stop doing Sudoku and turn out the light. Can't have tea or I'm in the loo all night and tea is a stimulant. Hot chocolate works better.
May do some more pruning this afternoon.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
Nice to see you doc - has your snow gone or is it lingering?
I'm going to do a bit of pruning after lunch. Been to cemetery - took some hellebores which were looking pretty. The little clump of snowdrops graveside were out - they've survived despite the dry ground under the conifers there. Mine are only just out here - they've been slightly slower than usual but not much I reckon.
Stick with it Hosta - it'll get better eventually. It can be a vicious circle.
Yvie - that's way too much like hard work for today, although I did dishes and a washing and cleaned the loo before I got my Mother's Day prezzie
Lovely flowers, a funny card and some jelly beans, and dinner made as well. What's not to like...
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
Netley 150 Celebration on Saturday went to the celebration, people thought the station garden looked good, I got a white and blue balloon had some yummy train cake and got a glitter tattoo of a feather - blue and turquoise colour
A Zany Zebra from Marwell Zoo was there
The Mayor partly planting the tree Amelanchier lamarckii more like putting some soil on top and Queen Victoria and not so fat controller (Mark our main co-ordinator man we report to) also the ticket man for Netley
Looks like they really went to town on their celebrations Ggirl - good for them. Cake looks amazing .....and the amelanchier will be a lasting memory of the day
We've had a lovely four hours with my Mum and my little Sis ( well actual Sis in her 40's) Lots of remembering and laughs along with smoked salmon, crab and some fizz One happy Mum
Tonight was supposed to be a roast pork dinner but neither of us are hungry, so we'll graze on what is left after our niece ( best friend's daughter) spent last evening with us.

Sun is shining now.
Garden too wet to do much, but have been hacking at a few shrubs, I can reach, without walking on the borders.
Shoulder of lamb for dinner, can already smell it.

I'm kinda with the free spirit approach to sleep, however, I prefer to sleep when it's dark and be awake when it's light, not the other way round.
Thanks for the words of support ( I think ) Punkdoc. and nice to have you back with us. I'm certainly not going back to drink just to get some sleep.
