Yes. I will be pruning my penstemons that flowered last year down to about six inches and use the prunings for cuttings. If it is a rooted cutting, pinch the top out to make it branch.
Decided to walk after work but the traffic was every shade of hellish and I would have been lucky to get near the hill by 4 o clock so I turned round and came back

Glad you both had a good day doc and Dove. Nice when you get grass cut and things look much more spring like.
I'll now have to go and fit a new latch on the back gate as young fairy didn't shut the gate properly, and the wind caught it and it went right through the check on the outside of the post and snapped the latch in two.

Not my day today!
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
Evening all! Off work and just having a rest before I potter off to the garden for a walk around. There's nothing I can do until the destruction and errection of the new garage is finished as my area of the garden is going to be quite the dumping ground.
Not what a gardener wants to hear with spring in the air! I may have to invest in some pots to keep me contented. Cripes if I dont get this garden soon I'll have redesigned it so many times no one will know what we're meant to be doing
Beautiful sunny day and have spent a few hours in the garden, edging lawn, planting foxgloves and trimming a few shrubs. Lots of singing birds and loads of ladybirds enjoying the sunshine.
Have worked my way though half a family bag of mini eggs this afternoon

Sunny here.... woo hoo!
Quick question.... I have a penstemon plant from Topbird that is getting a trifle leggy.... should I pinch it out?

Thanks Fidget
Well that was a lovely day
Loads done in the garden including both lawns mowed and all the beds hoed and weeded.
Supper of baked cod in parsley sauce, new potatoes and petit pois all prepped ... now I'm on the sofa
Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.
Evening all.
Lovely and sunny today, got down to just a tee shirt, briefly.
Lots done, it is lovely to see things starting to poke through the bare earth.
About to open a bottle of Prosecco, not sure what we are celebrating.
Have a good evening.
