Not up to much today Flumpy. Probably a couple of loads of washing - HRH vomited on my trousers yesterday when I was trying to get her outside, but i wasnt quick enough . It was Hubbys fault, he was too slow opening the door and I had both hands occupied trying to hold her and also holding her mouth closed! She does this occasionally, starts to cough in her sleep, then on her feet, and you have to be quick to get her off the lounge chair and outside.
Canberra is having a long weekend to celebrate Canberra Day, so there'll probably be tourists around.
Morning all, went to bed at 10.30 after a long day gardening and couldn't sleep because of aches and pains so I've got back up. Can't make a cuppa because I will disturb Secondborn's OH (they sleep in the conservatory) Secondborn is visiting his mum in the lake district while work goes on in their house. With only 7 weeks to go before 'bump' arrives she can't do much so we've packed her off for a break.
Can anyone explain why we pay to have surveys carried out before we buy houses. They had their survey done and then found that there was a leak which was coming from the roof. The seller repaired it and they asked the surveyor to come back and check it. He said it was OK. They have now found out that they will need to have a new roof at a cost of over £10k. It seems that because his 'OK' was verbal and not in writing in the original report there is nothing they can do about it.
Think they have but haven't got anywhere. I think they would still have bought the house, but it seems it's not worth going to the expense of a surveyor if they can't manage to spot problems.
I agree. When we bought a house in Melbourne in 1980, we paid for a survey, and then found lots of problems after we moved in. Don't know how they get away with it. They werent cheap either. Best of luck with sorting it out.
I hope all goes well with the birth of the new baby and they get a lovely little one,

That's not fair, is it. Can't you complain to the surveyor?
