Blowing a hoolie here and what seems from several directions at once. Rain coming down hard too now.
OH was busy attic sorting yesterday and left both storage ends open and lights on so draughty house and who knows how much heat and light wasted. Apart from feeding the birds and replacing the dustbin that serves as a rhubarb forcer - this time with a brick to weight it down - I am staying indoors and painting walls and then more patchwork while the paint dries.
Two cushion covers finished yesterday. Very chuffed. Wall hanging today, making a surround for a embroidery of a Chinese dragon, all the while cogitating about which seeds to sow in which order when we get back from our week in the Vendée.
Vendée - 20kms from Atlantic coast.

Morning all. Well that was a wild night. Our usually solid house was creaking away very alarmingly - at one point I honestly thought we were going to lose bits of the roof. We live in a narrow valley, and Mr C assures me it sounded worse because the wind was just the right direction to be tunnelled down it. However, no damage done beyond a sleepless night, so counting our blessings. Even still got power
Phewww, that was a stormy night! Few bits of tree on the ground but nothing serious.
Don't think I'm very far from you Chicky, think you live in Sussex too. The wind here was horrendous, at one piont thought there was a window missing in the conservatory, the wind was whistling around so bad. Was getting very worried about our oak tree!
Sounds as though you've had a terrible night. Good morning to all. We're sat in front a to show about the brain. Not sure if I'm connecting there either.
We are on the "three counties" border Lily - Surrey, Hampshire, Sussex, so quite close to you. Glad you also came through without mishap. Just been hearing that Wisley is closed til midday whilst they do inspections

DD, have fun with Charlie on the egg hunt.
A lot calmer now, at least it's stopped raining.
Stay safe everyone.

Hi Pat I'm here
it's probably because of all the bad weather in the night Pat.
