thanks GWRS. If the insomnia is the only "cold turkey" from giving up booze, I'm not doing too badly.

Morning all, Very wet here over the last couple of days, but warmer.  Doesn't look like I'm going to get out there today.  Really want to get new seeds sown but the potting shed is full of secondborn's gardening equipment and conservatory is full of Secondborn and her Partner.  I must admit to getting really frustrated now about not being able to get on.

    Panda you deserve a medal.

Liri, always fancied Madeira but Hubby not keen.

Shirley, my grandaughters (2 and 7) love to walk round the garden while I name all the plants the eldest really Dicentra, she thinks its great how the flowers look like little red hearts.

SGL have a lovely time with Poppet

A quick hello from me image

We had a dusting of snow overnight but it has now melted.

    Morning everyone.

Nothing much planned for today - doesn't look like a garden type of day - more hwk, ironing and a tussle with HMRC I think image

Hosta - I have struggled with rubbish sleep patterns all my life.

Some years ago I went for acupuncture for a problem with my neck. A suprising and totally unexpected side affect was the amazing ability to be able to go to bed and just fall asleep - and stay asleep until morning. Even if I was disturbed in the night I was able to just roll over and go back to sleep.

It was a revelation to discover just how amazingly well and refreshed I felt for those few months.

It might be worth a try... in fact having just written that - I might give it another try too image

Morning all. Raining and windy. Have some ironing to do.

Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.

Sorry Hosta - that should have read "side effect" - not "affect" image

    Afternoon all.

The sun is dazzling on the snowy hills opposite - we had a thunderstorm this morning with snow and hail, very exciting!  It's mostly melted at low levels, which is good because trying to walk on hail-covered pavements is a bit tricky...

Been making more bird cake.  The robin is sitting on the wild rose outside the window, pointedly looking at me.

Reversing with a stiff neck:  some years ago I was having physio for a neck problem (too much heavy lifting! image ) and had to learn to reverse using only the wing mirrors.  It works!

Since 2019 I've lived in east Clare, in the west of Ireland.

Spring here. The pond is full of frogs, and the Heron has decided to take up residence in the apple tree that gives it a good view.
