Last night while stripping paper off the kitchen wall, I noticed two large nuts sticking out of the wall. I thought that maybe they were extra large bolts for the living room radiator. My brother had to come and move a wire for the plasterer and I mentioned them. It appears that they are gas cap offs. For years I opened the cupboard with the mugs in and swore there was an odd whiff of gas. I have repeatedly been told that I am imagining it as there is no gas on that side of the kitchen. At this my brother fetched a spray to test for leaks. Lo and behold I have had a gas leak for 20 years.

It is now fixed and the kichen is replastered. Tomorrow I may get a sink back.

    Evening all.

    Haven't read back, sorry.

Heard yesterday that a friend of mine died suddenly on Sunday of a massive heart attack.  She was slim and always seemed fit and well. Its a complete shock.

Sorry to hear your news SGL, we also heard today that an ex colleague of Hubby had died suddenly, he would have only been in his early 50's, it really is a shock isn't it.

Hope you enjoyed your awaydays GWRS.

What horrible shocks for both of you. I've just read that women are having heart attacks more than they used to and at a younger age.

It was a nice day today, did gardening, put it on the gardening thread.

Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.

Condolences SGL and Yvie, very sad and deeply shocking for family and friends

we are all still shaken from a very close miss in our family last week. As a medic said to us "anyone can have a heart attack"
