  • Thank you both! We painted the fence and decking a couple of years ago, we've been really pleased with how well it has held up to the elements. I find it really cheers the place up during the grey winter days.

It's more a day for admiring and enjoying than any work today (29 degrees!)

The strong sunlight is making some plants positively glow...

    Too hot, 36°

I like your fence colour Dewdrops.

Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.

Have given everything a good soaking this morning.

Got a few funny looks from workers walking past to the nearby office building, they're all in smart suits and I'm out front with a hosepipe in my PJ's at 8am image image image

A good washing day for big heavy curtains, think that's as much outdoor activity I can cope with in this heat. One lot's out, just waiting for the next to finish.

In the pond pulling up invasive reeds and rushes, seems Like the right weather to do this. Other half can Karcher the yard, then a a cold white wine.

Went out early and cleared up some of yesterday's detritus from "little dead tree No 2". Have taken out all but the biggest trunk/branches and left only brambles and other dross growing up through. I hope it won't take long to clear that.

It's far too warm to do anything more for a while but it's nice to see some progress. I can officially walk from one end of my garden to the other NEARLY in a straight line. image Once I get my brush cutter back I'll be able to remove the planks and ladders!!! Anytime now I'll be booted off the Gallery of Shame. image

If my floating jetty was finished I could dabble my feet in the pond but since it hasn't quite been started yet (except for the floats)...that won't be for a while. image
