Ran out and in between showers and trailed big lumps of wood and wee lumps of wood out of very wet overgrown brambles. I can see daylight out the other end! image It doesn't look like much but it's progress! WooHoo!

I'm pooped but there's light at the end of the tunnel/brambles!

I have a few 'wildlife' areas in my garden - some intentional and some not. Sure the frogs appreciate it a Doghouse - even if not in-keeping with your usual manicured style!

The story with my lily, Nanny Beach, is that it is nestled in a small clump of Alchemilla Mollis and hardy Geranium and pops up every July. It must have been planted by the previous owners so was a nice surprise the first summer here. I assumed Arum Lily was white and hardy and coloured ones were more tender and termed Calla Lily but I will read-up.

AuntyRach;  You are correct re lily . My Arum lily is left out but the calla is brought, in and allowed to die back until spring. There are some lovely pastel colours in the callas.

It's getting very hot for gardening here, but yesterday I did some weeding in the upper middle bed when it was in the shade when the sun went behind a tree. Mostly the gardening is watering and deadheading.

Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.

I had a fairly pleasant weekend, not as strenuous as Doghouse's above, fortunately, as it has been jolly warmimage

Decided to tidy up a wildish area in the shade border as I have a couple of real plants in there. Accidentally pulled up one of them, my perennial honesty, potted it up for now. Sadly, it turns out the wild area was held together by sticky weed and now looks a terrible messimage

Deadheaded a bunch of stuff, lupins are still going, not a 'phid in sight either thanks to my sparrow acquaintances.

Had to water some things today it was so hot. Rudbeckia are flaking out the front.

Did a bit of planning and photographed some awkward and ugly areas to sort over winter.
