Last two dayshave been rain and am struggling with motivation on the sunny occasions.
Have done slug patrols every night and I'm sick to the back teeth of finding a gazillion of the crafty blighters abseiling leaves, rock climbing fences and pretending to be twigs or dirt or grit when I shine my torch. Or sliding off my scissors. I go as far as chopping leaves in half to end their reign of munching.
Bleeders are even eating my Sambucus to death, must have got 200 tonight alone
Planted out Astrantia Roma, Oriental poppy, aquilegias and Imperata Red Baron. Hope to get more in later but as my good lady wife is on a hen do in an hour it's all three kids to look after for the rest of the day so unlikely .
Don't reckon I'll get owt done today Too snowy/rainy/haily
Got out to B&Q first thing to spend a voucher before the day-trippers rocked up. Needn't have worried. In the snow flurry before 0800 there was only me and one other mad lady trawling the garden section... Didn't really see anything I liked plant wise but I'll be back when they're all on the dead shelf
Fed the birds a million times as it's jolly cold - even had to break into their emergency cheese although I think my neighbours cat ate some of it. Seem to have acquired a greenfinch, so have ordered it a nice clean pole to set up a new feeder.
Might do a bit of online gardening and stare outside for a bit
Got my Blueberry plants!!!YAY!!!! Put them in, talked to them nicely, trimmed up the Raspberries, put in more Sweet Peas, tidied up and fed the Strawberries, sowed some Dwarf French Beans, topped up the Potatoes which are romping away....and I have a Robin nesting in my birdbox. All is well in my little garden kingdom

Epimediums destroyed before they got going

oh well, it will get better right?
One planned visit to hospital (pre-op assessment), one unplanned visit to vet. Discovered that I had left my shoebox of seeds out in the rain
Seeds now sorted into waterproof packaging, damp but readable, illegible but recognised and not-a-sausage. Does this count as gardening?
Quick hour today before the hail came...
