DD, have just manage to catch up with what I missed whilst in the care of the NHS bless them. Sorry to read the effect it has on your life, never happened to me though I did see friends part and not all in a friendly way. My one piece of advice is take control of your own life, you are the one in charge now so steer in the direction you and only you wish to go. It will be hard at first though in time all things sort themselves out, you will reach the place you want to be. Take care DD my thoughts are with you.
Hazel, All OK, my motto has always been if you can fix it do so, if you cannot, leave it to those who can and do not worry about it. The bad news you hear about the NHS I only ever had the best care and treatment, wonderful people doing a brilliant job.
Palaisglide, so sorry to hear you've been unwell, and pleased to hear you are on the mend, pretty certain that the positive and forward thinking attitude you have has been a big help. Looking forward to reading your input on SCD soon too.
To everyone else that commented, thank you, so encouraging. Charlie & I enjoyed the rest of our week-end together and he loved the fact that we can now walk to school together. He is with Daddy until tomorrow now, I'm working so it's not too bad, but I'll be pleased to see him and hear all his chatter then.

Thank you all for the good wishes, am back on my feet not quite running yet a steady sort of half gallop or trot as we say. I never dwell on things as reading various boards there are so many people in a worse situation, I count my blessings.
DD my comments on SCD may be somewhat acid until the dross has gone, look at the feet is my way.
My mantra at the moment is ' never look for a wishbone where a backbone should be'. Life is tough for me at the moment but I am confident things will get better for all of us having a rough time just now.

DD sounds as if things are settling down in your life. I am a great believer that we can change with the seasons, how we do it is up to us.
Frank best wishes for a speedy recovery
