Lyn, you know where I am.

Call me if you want to unload "live" . I'm around all week before hospital next week.

If you manage to get someone in and you want a change of scenery, pop round any time for a cuppa and a natter. Winge as much as you like . I've got broad shoulders.

    Love to you all.

    Devon.

You're a dear, I know I can phone you anytime. Just think of what we will be doing in the summer, all those nice garden to visit, Your knee will be better, think of the seedsimage

  • Sorry to hear about your struggles Lyn, I really hope you manage to get some help especially at such a difficult time, physically and emotionally of course. You sound so brave and so caring and obviously managing it all without losing your sense of humour. Big hugs.

Lyn, sorry I don't know the answer to your question.

Male catheterisation is more of a problem, than female, so that might affect things.

I would hope, that given the situation, the District Nurse should be allowed to sort it.

I am really sad that the NHS of which I am very proud, fails so badly in some cases, and really hope you get some help, and that your fathers last days are as comfortable as possible.

I will ring the nurse first thing in the morning, I know she will do it if she is allowed, it just depends whether she needs to ask the doctor beforehand. Dad has had one before, he suffers with the waterworks problem at the best of times, so you can imagine how bad he is feeling on top  everything else.  Poor old boy is trying to get to the commode every time, which is often, I am having a job lifting him and helping back to bed, I am sure they will do it.

I could never have imagined how someone could lose so much weight  in a short time, there is absolutely nothing on him. He used to be such a big strong man, and only a couple of years ago. He really hasn't the strength to stand up.

he was helping with mum this time last year. So sad.

Lyn, I do hope that you got some rest last night. You sound mentally and physically exhausted.  Hugs.

Lyn I hope the nurses are able to give your dad a helping hand with a catheter. Not the nicest of things but gosh do they help at times.

Please please look after yourself. I wish I was close enough to nip over and make you a mug of tea and keep your dad company while you could rest.
